Willmar Velocity's 10U softball team were tabbed the Crow River League tournament champions out of the Gold Bracket on Saturday at the Willmar Civic Center softball fields.
The CRL includes 26 teams, 24 of which competed in the tournament, which was split into three brackets: Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Willmar Velocity 10U opened up championship Saturday with a 14-4 victory against Annandale 10C Gray. They then beat Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 10C Gold 15-3.
Advancing to the championship game, Willmar Velocity 10U earned a 4-2 win against Watertown-Mayer 10C Red to capture the league's title.
With a 2-2 tie through 4-1/2 innings in the title game, Lila Arcilla lashed an RBI single and Teagan Streff hit an RBI groundout to give Willmar Velocity 10U its 4-2 advantage.
Everly Guennigsmann tossed a complete game in the championship for Willmar Velocity 10U. She racked up 10 strikeouts and surrendered four hits and two runs in six innings.
Willmar Velocity 10U, ranked fifth in the state, finished the season with a 26-9-1 record, according to GameChanger.
According to GameChanger, Willmar Velocity 10U's roster includes: Arcilla, Emma Ewert, Guennigsmann, Ara Hjelden, Alaina Kveene, Emersyn Lee, Claire Puchalski, Kolbie Stern, Streff, Leah Kafati Torres, Alexis Uecker and Bria Wadsworth.
Andrew Kveene served as head coach for Willmar Velocity 10U, which had Todd Guennigsmann, Brock Streff and Sissi Kafati Torres on staff as assistant coaches.
